Bogatell is one of the beaches created for the 1992 Olympic Games, when Poblenou's old industrial waterfront was opened to the sea. It is wide, with fine sand and a seafront promenade with a cycle lane and green spaces behind.
It has volleyball nets, showers and seasonal beach bars, and draws more locals than tourists. Behind it lies Poblenou, a former factory district turned into an area of offices, restaurants and terraces.
