It is the beach of the La Viña quarter in Cádiz's old town, tucked between San Sebastián castle, reached by a long causeway over the sea, and Santa Catalina castle. It was the Phoenicians' natural harbour, and in the middle stands the Nuestra Señora de la Palma bathhouse from 1926.
Fishing boats pulled up on the sand give it its timeless look, and a scene from the Bond film «Die Another Day» was shot here, with Cádiz standing in for Havana. It is where locals go to watch the sun set over the Atlantic.
