The foundation opened in 2015 in a 1910 distillery remodelled by Rem Koolhaas's studio, which combined the old warehouses with new buildings. The most striking is the Haunted House, a four-storey house covered entirely in gold leaf. In 2018 the 60-metre Torre was added, with galleries and a restaurant at the top.
It hosts changing exhibitions of contemporary art, film and architecture alongside permanent works. Bar Luce, designed by director Wes Anderson, recreates the Milanese cafés of the 1950s and 60s, with Formica tables and pinball machines.
