The market moved in 2012 to this modern building near the old slaughterhouse. Works uncovered remains of Roman warehouses from the river port, now visible under a glass floor. Testaccio was the slaughterhouse workers' district, and many Roman offal dishes come from here.
It has dozens of stalls of fruit, meat, fish and cheese, and a cluster of food stalls with tables where you can have a braised beef sandwich, supplì or the pasta of the day.
