The complex was built in 1901 with the legacy of Manó Gozsdu, a lawyer of Romanian descent, and is made up of six buildings linked by seven courtyards running from Király utca to Dob utca, in the heart of the Jewish quarter.
After the war it fell into disrepair. Restored in the 2000s, its courtyards are now full of terraces, bars and restaurants, and at night it is one of the liveliest spots in the city.
