Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara

It is a 19th-century garden on two terraces at the edge of Bairro Alto. From the upper level, where a tile panel points out the monuments, you face the castle hill, Graça and the Baixa; the lower level has flowerbeds and busts of classical gods.

The Glória funicular, which climbed here from Restauradores, has been out of service since the accident of 3 September 2025, in which 16 people died. Carris plans to replace it with a new system, with a target date in 2029.
