It began in 1974 as a small crafts market by Camden Lock on the Regent's Canal, and today is several markets together with more than a thousand stalls. The Stables Market fills the old stables and horse hospital for the horses that pulled railway wagons.
There is vintage clothing, records, leather, art, oddities and, above all, street food from around the world. Camden was the home of punk and Britpop, and the Stables Market has a bronze statue of Amy Winehouse, who lived nearby.
