Regent's Park

Marylebone

John Nash designed it in 1811 for the Prince Regent, later George IV, with the grand white-stucco Georgian terraces that ring it, such as Cumberland Terrace. It opened to the public in 1835 and covers some 160 hectares.

The Inner Circle holds Queen Mary's Gardens, with about 12,000 roses blooming in June, and an open-air theatre that runs in summer. London Zoo is at the north end, and the Regent's Canal runs along it towards Camden and Little Venice.
