Chocolatería San Ginés

Centro

It opened in 1894 in the Pasadizo de San Ginés, an alley beside the church of the same name, just off Calle Arenal. It began as a fry shop and over the years became the classic stop for chocolate and churros, including at the end of a night out in Madrid.

Inside it keeps its mirrors, marble and photos of famous customers. It opens from early morning until very late, and the chocolate is thick, made for dipping.
