Letná

On the Letná ridge, Europe's largest Stalin monument, a 15-metre granite group, was unveiled in 1955 and blown up by the regime itself in 1962. Since 1991 its plinth has carried a giant metronome by Vratislav Novák, and the esplanade is now a gathering spot for skateboarders.

From the edge you see the Vltava with all its bridges lined up one after another, the best spot for that postcard view. Further east, the open-air beer garden under the chestnut trees fills up on summer evenings.
