It opened in 1938 on Piazza di Sant'Eustachio, between the Pantheon and the Senate, and keeps its original counter and mosaic floor. It roasts its own coffee over wood in the back, which is rare today.
Its speciality is the gran caffè, a double espresso the baristas make with their backs to the customer so as not to reveal the method; it comes with a thick crema and already sweetened. There is coffee granita in summer and bags of their blend to take home.
