The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia was built between the late 13th and mid-15th centuries over an earlier basilica, on the highest point of the Roman city. The neo-Gothic main façade is much later, completed between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Highlights inside include the carved wooden choir, the crypt with Saint Eulalia's tomb and the cloister, a garden of palms and orange trees home to thirteen white geese, one for each year of the saint's age when, according to tradition, she was martyred.
