Toledo's Primate Cathedral was begun in 1226, under Ferdinand III, and finished at the end of the 15th century. It is one of Spain's great Gothic cathedrals, with five naves and a vast interior full of chapels.
Highlights inside include the Transparente, a Baroque altarpiece lit through an opening in the vault; the sacristy with El Greco's Disrobing of Christ and a dozen more of his works; and the Treasury with Enrique de Arfe's monstrance.
