Before you go
Toledo is about 35 minutes from Atocha and Segovia under half an hour from Chamartín by high-speed train. Buy return tickets in advance, as trains fill up at weekends.
Segovia's high-speed station is outside town; a city bus drops you by the aqueduct in about 15 minutes.
Each trip is worth a full day. In Toledo, save the Mirador del Valle for late afternoon; in Segovia, walk the old town from the aqueduct to the Alcázar.
