The Hôtel Biron is a 1732 mansion where Rodin rented rooms as a studio from 1908. He gave the state his works and collections on condition that it became a museum, which opened in 1919, two years after his death.
Inside are The Kiss, works by Camille Claudel, his pupil and lover, and paintings by Van Gogh and Renoir that the sculptor collected. The rose garden, some three hectares, holds The Thinker, The Gates of Hell, The Burghers of Calais and his Balzac.
