The Turkish bath was built in the 16th century, during Ottoman rule, at the foot of Gellért Hill. Its heart is an octagonal pool under a dome pierced by small coloured glass openings, surrounded by smaller pools at different temperatures.
The modern wing adds a swimming pool, saunas and, on the roof, a hot pool overlooking the Danube and Elisabeth Bridge. On Friday and Saturday nights it opens for late bathing into the small hours.
