Architect Piero Portaluppi built it between 1932 and 1935 for the Necchi Campiglio family, who made sewing machines. It has a large garden and what was Milan's first heated private pool. The owners left it to FAI, Italy's heritage trust, which opened it to the public in 2008.
It's kept as the family lived in it: kitchen, marble bathrooms, dressing rooms and salons with the original furniture, plus 18th- and 20th-century art collections. Luca Guadagnino shot I Am Love here with Tilda Swinton.
