Artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser designed it with architect Josef Krawina, and it was built between 1983 and 1985 as City of Vienna social housing. Hundertwasser hated straight lines: the house has wavy floors, no two windows alike, ceramic columns and golden onion domes.
Some 250 trees and shrubs grow on its terraces and roof, because for him trees were the city's tenants. About fifty households live here, so you see it from the street only.
