Hofburg Palace

Innere Stadt

It was the Habsburg residence from the 13th century until the monarchy ended in 1918, and each emperor added a wing, creating a cluster of courtyards, squares and palaces in the heart of the city. Today it houses Austria's president, museums, the National Library and the Spanish Riding School.

The most popular visit combines three museums on one ticket: the Imperial Apartments where Franz Joseph and Sisi lived, the Sisi Museum with her dresses, jewellery and personal belongings, and the court's Silver Collection of tableware.
