Before you go
It's a heavy dish, better as your main meal than for dinner. Café Santiago gets a queue at peak times, so arrive early.
There's often a queue for a table at the Majestic; first thing in the morning you'll get in faster. The Guarany on Aliados is calmer.
The market closes on Sundays and public holidays. Go in the morning and cross to the Confeitaria do Bolhão opposite for a pastry.
Port cellar tours, such as Sandeman's, are booked for a set time on their websites and end with a tasting.
